Nathaniel Sutton

Sunday • 12:00 pm

The Carrot Community Arts Coffeehouse

Hailing from the prairies region of Edmonton, Alberta Canada comes a humble story of a singer/songwriter, composer and performer, Nathaniel Sutton. While delivering mostly folk-based indie rock, you’ll also find splashes of dynamic alt/country, pop and moody tones.

The Edmonton native is by no means a newcomer to the music scene. He spent several years playing in touring bands, while he honed his recording and production chops on the side. Sutton continues to create deeply personal music with high production values, which has been described as ‘sonic poetry’.

Over the Moon

Saturday • 3:00 pm

The Carrot Community Arts Coffeehouse

Alberta’s Juno nominated, roots/swing duo "Over The Moon" are totally immersed in real cowboy country. Their music is a wild ride from 40's western swing and Appalachian old-time, to cowboy blues, all featuring their meant-to-be vocals and a wide array of acoustic instruments.

Suzanne Levesque and Craig Bignell are award winning multi-instrumentalists and vocalists. After discovering their near perfect blend of voices, often moving people to tears upon hearing them sing together, they stepped over the threshold and Over the Moon was born.

Simple and sweet, their music and lyrics have a common thread that speaks of the Canadian west.

Gareth Gilliland

Saturday • 2:00 pm

The Carrot Community Arts Coffeehouse

A thoughtful up-and-coming Edmonton-based guitarist, composer, and producer; Gareth Gilliland has studied guitar for over ten years in Canada and Europe. Often thinking of textures from ambient music, melodies from folk music traditions, and techniques from 20th-century composition, Gareth honours those who have come before him while exploring "new" sounds through improvisation. Social Eyes is both the name of his accompanying band and the title of his forthcoming EP set to be released this fall. He will be joined by Biboye Onanuga on drums, Andre Affleck on keys and Holly Sangster on vocals, flute, and saxophone.
