Drawing on the early masters of acoustic blues like Mississippi John Hurt, Mississippi Fred MacDowell, Blind Willie Johnson and Robert Johnson, the strains and echoes of that raw impassioned music continues to be at the forefront of this 'old' artist's repertoire. With solid fingerstyle techniques mixed in with open tuning slide work, songs dating back to the 1920s and up to the present, here is a performer that has obviously spent many many hours in a small room, alone, with a worn guitar, a simple chair, and a connection to the before.
