Leah Harman is a professional saxophonist from Edmonton, Alberta, with a background in both classical and jazz saxophone.
She began her post-secondary education studying Jazz Saxophone Performance at Humber College in 2012 and completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz and Contemporary Popular music at Edmonton's MacEwan University in 2017. Leah has studied with renowned musicians such as Mark Promane, Johnny Griffith, Michael Stuart, and Jeremiah McDade. Leah’s influences primarily belong in the jazz genre, drawing inspiration from musicians, Eric Alexander, Ralph Bowen, Dexter Gordon, Donny McCaslin, Bob Reynolds, and Chet Baker.
Leah is versatile in a variety of styles ranging from Jazz Combo, Big Band, Jazz, Funk, Punk, and Latin. Leah is the winner of the 2017 Musicounts Fred Sherratt Award for outstanding achievement in music and recording arts & sciences. Leah was awarded the 2017 Deans Medal of Academic Excellence through MacEwan University.
