The Borch Brothers

The Borch Brothers - Rigel, Marten, and Garnet - are an East coast fiddle band playing folk with hints of jazz, swing, Ukrainian, and Celtic music. The trio has been playing gigs together since 2003 when the youngest member, Rigel, was just 2 years old! With their fiddle, guitar, vocals, harmonica, kick-drum, accordion, and piano, The Borch Brothers have now become one of the longest standing buskers at the Old Strathcona Farmer’s Market and have played at Big Valley Jamboree, Canadian Finals Rodeo, and more. Focused on community, the group loves to make connections and put their crowds in a good, dance-y mood.

Olivia Rose

Born and raised in the small town of Elk Point, Alberta, Olivia Rose has dreamed of pursuing country music since she was very young. Her talents and passion have launched her prominently into the Canadian country music world, and landed her opening performances for big names like Brett Kissel and Chad Brownlee. Olivia has twice won Rising Star at the Edmonton Music Awards, along with multiple nominations for the Alberta Music Awards.

The Imaginarium Puppet Company

Duffy’s Puppets started in 2002, making puppets for local community productions. In 2015, they built all 26 puppets for the first-ever all puppet reality show, Felt Up. The group has started their own web series, made puppets for local musicians, and is now bringing their Imaginarium Puppets to a Kaleido stage near you! The Imaginarium creates fun and engaging stories for kids.

Sangea Academy

The name Sangea comes from Liberia, meaning a female leader, a nod to the West African women who created the style of dance Sangea Academy performs. The Sangea Academy has a mission to share and preserve West African culture - offering programs and workshops. The Sangea band performs at festivals and other events, spreading their message and culture throughout the city, province, and country.

The Dixieland Jazz Society of Alberta is pleased to present the Edmonton All-Star Swing Band, made up of veteran musicians whose roots date back to the “Tailgate Jazz Band” and the “Alberta Gentlemen of Jazz” that were active from the mid-1950s through the 90s. The Edmonton All-Star Swing Band played with Rollanda Lee for many years, performing for delighted audiences all over Western Canada and beyond. The band is currently made up of the old stalwarts Doug Innes (clarinet/tenor saxophone), Andrew Glover (piano), Wes Jaciuk (guitar/banjo), and Dean Pierno (drums), and its newer members include Allen Jacobson (trombone), Joel Gray (trumpet), and Glenn Durksen (bass). The band performs traditional swing and New Orleans style jazz, including blues, spirituals, swing, and show tunes from the 20s, 30s, and 40s. It’s toe-tapping, listening, and dancing music at its finest!
